Landrace pigs are a lean, long, flop eared breed that can do well in both indoor and outdoor systems, best known for its excellent bacon. Landrace pigs have played a major part in the commercial pork industry for a number of years.
Offspring are fast growing and sows can rear large litters of up to 16 piglets. Another strength of the Landrace breed is its ability to improve other breeds through crossing to produce superior hybrid animals.
